A Language of Stitches: The Radical Quilts of Rosie Lee Tompkins

My new book, A Language of Stitches: the Radical Quilts of Rosie Lee Tompkins is now available for pre-order at Abrams Books. This is my first solo project: pictures and words by me! Creating this picture book biography to celebrate the incredible work of Rosie Lee Tompkins was a labor of love. I know readers, art lovers and the fabric obsessed (you know who you are!) of all ages, will enjoy this book. The book took over four years to research, write and illustrate. I look forward to sharing the process, from idea to finished book in future newsletters.

We’ll be inspired by artists like Sister Corita Kent, Andrea Pippin, Reuben Margolin, Paul Klee, Rosie Lee Tompkins, and many others. We will draw and paint, print and build, sew and measure, plan and PLAY! Future newsletters will feature more of my students’ work and process.
